- KOSPI는 외국인, 기관 순매도세로 약 -1.0% 약세. 미국 CPI 둔화로 위험자산 선호심리 확대되어 미 증시 강세 출발했으나, 차익실현 매물로 반락. 애틀란타 연은 총재, 클리블랜드 연은 총재 등 매파적 발언 지속되면서 투자심리 약화. 외국인 투자자는 현, 선물시장에서 순매도 전환. 한편, 중국 4월 산업생산은 6.7%로 예상치 상회했으나, 4월 소매판매는 2.3%로 예상치를 하회. 다소 부진한 중국 경제지표는 불안 요인

- 아시아 증시는 혼조세 양상. 중국 상해종합지수, 일본 니케이지수가 각각 -0.1%, -0.25%로 소폭 하락한 반면, 인도네시아 IDX종합지수, 말레이시아 KLCI 지수는 각각 +0.93%, +0.36%로 강세

- 원/달러 환율은 +12.2원 상승한 1,357.2원으로 거래. 미국 물가 둔화에도 연준 위원들의 매파적 발언 영향에 힘입어 상승

- 업종별로는 음식료품(+4.9%) 강세. 특히, 삼양식품(+30.0%)은 전년 동기 대비 매출이 +57%, 영업이익이 +235% 성장한 실적을 발표하면서 급등. 이어서 빙그레(+17.9%)도 전년 동기 대비 영업이익 60% 성장을 보이며 강세. 뒤이어, 전기가스업(+0.6%) 강세. 외국인 투자자의 저가매수세 유입이 긍정적으로 작용했고, 지역난방공사(+3.7%)가 강세 기여. 섬유,의복(+0.4%)은 F&F(+1.2%) 주도로 강세. 반면, 보험(-2.7%) 약세. 전일 급등했던 보험업종에서 차익실현 매물 출회되며 약세 전환한 것으로 해석. 그중 삼성생명(-5.6%), 한화생명(-4.1%)이 약세 주도. 뒤이어, 기계(-2.4%) 하락했으며, 체코 원전 수주로 강세를 지속했던 두산밥캣(-5.8%) 약세. 금일 운수장비(-1.4%) 내 조선 업종 약세 뚜렷. - KOSDAQ은 외국인 순매도로 -1.6% 약세. 금일 제약,바이오 업종은 희비가 엇갈림. HLB(-30.0%)는 간암 표적항암제인 리보세라닙이 FDA의 신약 품목허가를 받지 못해 급락. 반면, 알테오젠(+6.6%)은 1분기 호실적을 발표하며 강세. 그외 업종 내에서 클래시스(+1.3%), 삼천당제약(+1.35), 휴젤(+2.0%) 등 강세 전개. 뒤이어, 오락,문화(+0.5%) 강세. 그중 엔터 업종 전반적으로 상승했고, 실적개선 기대감으로 에스엠(+3.1%)이 강세 주도. 반면, 금속(-2.9%), 반도체(-1.8%)는 차익실현 매물로 약세

- KOSPI weakened about -1.0% on net selling of foreigners and institutions. U.S. stock markets started strong due to increased preference for risky assets due to slowing U.S. CPI, but fell due to profit-taking. Investor sentiment weakened as hawkish remarks such as the governor of the Atlanta Fed and the governor of the Cleveland Fed continued. Foreign investors switched to net selling in the current futures market. Meanwhile, China's industrial production in April exceeded expectations at 6.7%, but retail sales in April fell below expectations at 2.3%. China's somewhat sluggish economic indicators are a cause of instability

- Asian stocks are mixed. China's Shanghai Composite Index and Japan's Nikkei Index fell slightly to -0.1% and -0.25%, respectively, while Indonesia's IDX Composite Index and Malaysia's KLCI Index strengthened to +0.93%, +0.36%, respectively

- The won/dollar exchange rate rose by +12.2 won to trade at 1,357.2 won despite slowing U.S. prices, helped by Fed members' hawkish comments

- Food and beverage products (+4.9%) are strong by industry. In particular, Samyang Foods (+30.0%) surged as it reported a +57 percent year-on-year increase in sales and +235 percent in operating profit. Binggrae (+17.9%) was also strong as its operating profit grew 60 percent year-on-year. This was followed by a strong electricity and gas industry (+0.6 percent). Foreign investors' inflow of low-priced purchases was positive, and the District Heating Corporation (+3.7 percent) was strong. On the other hand, weak insurance (-2.7 percent). The insurance sector, which surged the previous day, turned weak as it sold profit-taking. Among them, Samsung Life Insurance (-5.6%) and Hanwha Life Insurance (-4.1%) were weak. It was followed by machinery (-2.4 percent), and Doosan Bobcat (-5.8 percent), which continued to be strong due to orders for nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic. The shipbuilding sector in transportation equipment (-1.4 percent) is apparently weak today. Weak development of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-6.6 percent), HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (-2.8 percent), and Hanwha Ocean (-2.7 percent)

- KOSPI weakened by -1.6% on net selling by foreigners. Today's pharmaceutical and bio industries are mixed. HLB (-30.0%) plunged as riboseranib, a targeted anticancer drug for liver cancer, failed to receive FDA approval for new drug products. On the other hand, Alteogen (+6.6%) is strong as it reported good first-quarter results. Other industries are Clasis (+1.3%), Samchondang Pharmaceutical (+1.35), and Hugel (+2.0%). Following this, entertainment and culture (+0.5%) are strong. Among them, the overall entertainment industry rose, and SM (+3.1%) is strong on expectations of improved performance. On the other hand, metals (-2.9%) and semiconductors (-1.8%) are weak due to profit-taking sales
