Trump has pardoned more

반응형

Trump has pardoned more than 1,500 people who were imprisoned for storming the Capitol. Among them are the leaders who received a 20-year sentence, and the famous far-right who broke into the Capitol wearing Auschwitz concentration camp T-shirts as shown in the picture below. All the leading rebellion criminals have been released.

Elon Musk, who made two Nazi salutes at the inauguration ceremony, cannot have done that for no reason. The U.S. judiciary and police cannot hide their discomfort over Trump's pardon. With this pardon, Trump has connived both the legislature and the judiciary.

Looking at this, I thought, "How did Trump come back after the first civil war of the 2021 storming of the National Assembly? How did he come back with a more powerful incarnation of revenge?

There must be a number of reasons. Still, there are two main reasons. The increasingly powerful far-right winds, and the Biden administration's inability. Anyway, the Biden administration and American civil society did not sufficiently suppress the far right as they passed through the 2021 Capitol riot.

Then, how is it possible to subdue democracy? Some say democracy should be strengthened, while others say solidarity. They are not wrong, but they are still abstract words. Some also argue that the soil where far-right and fascism grew, namely the prevalence of inequality and the absence of society, should be changed. True, but it takes time, and the Democratic Party of America is not that progressive.

On the other hand, the slogan of Trumpism is clear. Let's build a Christian white-centered society, remove polluters like transgender people and immigrants, build a pure country, tear away all democratic controls that make it difficult for capital to dominate the market, remove cumbersome republican devices like legislation and justice, and converge with a single force... With these strong slogans and grassroots organization, Trump was able to come back. The insurrectionists who invaded Congress were able to come back.

Additionally, the Biden administration and the United States' Liberal Democrats were unable to respond at all. They maintained their neoliberal stance because they believed they would win the election with just a few plausible explanations.

Looking at Trump's pardon, of course, we have no choice but to compare it with the situation in Korea. If the Constitutional Court cites the impeachment of the Yoon Suk Yeol, will this difficult problem be solved? As the current trend of approval ratings shows, Korean voters are wary of the Democratic Party's time to lead to dismissal and early presidential election. There is also a risk of Lee Jae-myung, but expectations for the Democratic Party of Korea fall that much. Then, if leftists ask if they are filling the gap, it is not at all.

Moreover, the attack on the Western District Court shows that Korea's far-right forces have become bigger than expected. The attack clearly demonstrated the power of extreme right-wing discourse, including the diligent grassroots organization of Christian extreme rightists, the organization of extreme rightists on social media, and the influence of anti-feminism that has penetrated every corner of society.

The Yoon Suk Yeol's attempt to appear at the Constitutional Court wearing such a red tie may be a result of his calculation to create chaos and gain a lifeblood by raising the power of the extreme right. Even if the impeachment is cited, it will continue to shake up the discourse like this, and if the National Power Party creates a regime, it will be pardoned.

Amid the craze for neo-conservatism and fascism that has swept the world, Korea is somehow at the forefront of it. It seems that it is by no means a craze that will be suppressed by citing impeachment. If not sufficiently suppressed, a second Yoon Suk Yeol may return as Trump returns.

Citing impeachment is important, but it seems that continuing to talk about how to quell this wind and how to subdue this terrible chaos with the far right has become a fire that has fallen in front of us right now. Unless the soil where the Yoon Suk Yeol and those chaotic forces have grown is changed, brutal forces will continue to grow. Certainly, a political "front line" that is different from the impeachment of the Yoon Suk Yeol is needed.
