<About Save Korea's Prayer>
Sunday, February 16, 2025, 12:32 PM

Between August 31 and September 7, 2014, a group of people could be seen chewing fried chicken and pizza next to a hunger strike in Gwanghwamun, where Kim Young-oh and other bereaved families of the Ferry Sewol Dynasty staged a hunger strike demanding to find out the truth about the sinking of the Ferry Sewol. These people, led by Ilbega, called their eating activities "biophilia" against "necrophilia" and "binge eating struggle" against "fast struggle."

The action was proposed on Aug. 28, 2024, when Kim was on a superhuman fast for 45 days and several people were fasting in sympathy. Proposing the action, which drew criticism from netizens that "one side is fasting for life, and you're binge-watching? Even embargoes do not go this far," they said their purpose was to "defend free democracy based on separation of powers from the Ferry Sewol Special Task Force, which seeks to acquire extrajudicial authority."

It was their "democracy" to show off the "freedom" to eat as much greasy food as "respect for life" in front of people who chose fasting as a last resort to ask why Korean society could not protect people's lives and take them away.

On Feb. 15, 2025, Save Korea held a national emergency prayer meeting, saying, "Let's protect freedom and democracy of the Republic of Korea by praying." Where? It was in Geumnam-ro, Gwangju. On May 17, 1980, when Chun Doo-hwan's martial law troops stormed in and bloody suppressed students and citizens who were demanding the martial law be lifted while protesting against the expansion of emergency martial law across the country. This is the place where citizens continued armed struggle against clubs, military boots, riot sticks, anti-war swords, rifles, armored vehicles, tanks and helicopters without succumbing to this military oppression.

In Chun Doo-hwan's "democracy," freedom meant freedom to arrest and shoot dead citizens who do not obey dictatorships. The freedom that Save Korea's democracy seeks to defend is freedom of civil war. Save Korea's prayer is a collective action for the freedom of the president to arbitrarily suspend the National Assembly and collect people who disagree with it, kill them with chemicals during the transfer to B1 bunkers, uninhabited islands, and civilian control zones. The Feb. 15 National Emergency Prayer Meeting was Ilbe's binge-eating struggle after moving from Gwanghwamun to Gwangju. The prayer meeting is a plantation mental farm that collectively fosters those who will obey state-backed currency orders and those who will accept hierarchy, discrimination, and inequality deep down.

Deep inside, it is a desperate struggle to save the neo-liberalistic capitalism that is facing the accumulation crisis. Yesterday (Feb. 15), a man was wearing a white suit and holding up a large signboard with the words "MAGA=MKGA (Make America Great Again= Make Korea Great Again)" printed on it at the entrance of the Donghwa Duty Free Shop in Gwanghwamun. Save Korea, like MAGA, is the language of crisis. Neoliberal capital needs people's "live labor" and "live skin."

When the proponents of the binge-eating struggle call their actions "biophilia," if it has anything to do with "life," it is a thirst for subservient mountain labor and a desire to exploit and steal what they have bought for profit.

Save Korea prays, withdraws from those who resist! ("Godfather of Creation and Providence")…withdraw from the tyranny of militant unions.") From the people to God, the source of state power! ("Let the President believe in God and seek wisdom, and engage in state affairs with the wisdom and inspiration that the Holy Spirit gives him.") Accumulate order of freedom with violence ("Let the Almighty prevail in this war with the power of immortality, and let the season of bluish blue Christ come on this earth where God's rule and order come.") From the poor to the head of the state! (I pray earnestly in the name of Jesus, the Lord of the Republic of Korea.)

There is an additional prayer in this prayer. 'I oppose the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol. Let him be released immediately. Again, let him have fire and fire! Once again, give him the power of emergency martial law!'

In this way, Save Korea becomes an open house - the army of Yoon Suk Yeol, the Roman army of our time - that arrests and crucifies Jesus of the people. At a time when this binge-watching prayer stops for a moment, there is a sound coming from somewhere.
