I thought it was fake news. But it was real. Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok said, "A memorial park will be built near Muan Airport to commemorate the victims of the Jeju Air plane accident." "The memorial park is planned to be 70,000 square meters near Muan Airport by investing 46 billion won." This is a follow-up measure that Governor Kim announced on the 6th at the provincial government in Jeollanam-do.

Is this a follow-up measure? Amazing. How can they come up with such an idea when the accident has yet to be resolved? The direct cause of the accident has yet to be revealed. But how can they even start thinking about building a memorial park worth tens of billions of dollars already? Do they really have even one heart to pay respects to? If they do, they would have no time to think about building a memorial park. If they have heartfelt condolences, shouldn't they first think about relieving the unfairness of the victims of the Jeju Air flight that sadly lost their lives?

Can't we pay tribute because there isn't a memorial park somewhere? Isn't there already a memorial park in the hearts of the 50 million people? But how can they even think about building a 70,000-square-meter memorial park with tens of billions of dollars? Shouldn't we think about using that money to add even a little more to the victims' compensation? A memorial park could be built. But in the right spirit, shouldn't a memorial park be considered after the truth is investigated, the punishment of the person responsible is done, and then a way to comfort the bereaved families? How can we come up with such an idea before the truth is revealed?

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum in Manhattan, U.S., was built to commemorate the six victims of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the 2,977 victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. However, the construction of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum was not started until 10 years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and opened on Sept. 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Is it so urgent to build a memorial park for the Jeju Air disaster?

In addition, a special law will be enacted so that victims can receive relief quickly with grounds for compensation such as accident compensation, consolation support, and loss compensation. In addition, the government will introduce a state-of-the-art bird monitoring and eradication system at Muan Airport and propose to the government the construction of an international airport-level runway that can take off and land large aircraft. It will seek administrative and financial measures, including subsidies for airline losses, and request support from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport so that the stable basic route system can be restored by attracting base airlines.

The same is true of this idea. How can Jeju Air and the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry even think of giving subsidies for losses instead of offering indulgence to the airline responsible for the disaster instead of taking responsibility for it, when they are found to be responsible for the disaster? Why would they blame the ministry for raising the disaster by making concrete localizers and instead try to extort money from the ministry in the name of expanding runways? It is preposterous. If the nation is in a state of chaos due to the president's reckless civil war, why should the head of a regional organization join forces to let go of their minds? Please wake up.

Don't talk about memorial parks, don't think about subsidizing losses to airlines that are supposed to hold them accountable, and don't think it's normal for the ministry to come up with measures to find out the truth about the disaster instead of trying to "give us money because we'll side with the collision." Shouldn't we first come up with safety measures to prevent a recurrence? For whom on earth is the memorial park for? For the construction workers? For the bereaved families?

In March, Governor Kim Young-rok of South Jeolla Province publicly praised the Yoon Suk Yeol of the rebellion at a public debate held at the South Jeolla Provincial Government ahead of the April 10 general elections, saying, "I'm so grateful that my heart is broken." As it is not enough to regret and apologize for such shameful acts, this time, it is putting a nail in the heart of the bereaved families and the people who are saddened by the Jeju Air disaster. Please wake up and apologize.
