It was not confirmed that the account was transferred, and it was not confirmed that the money was handed over where and when, but I think this is what I think when I see the court confirming the conviction without objective evidence that Seongnam City received political funds only by Yoo Dong-kyu's testimony.
First, it seems that many judges in the judiciary still don't want to turn a blind eye to the prosecution. In fact, they're still afraid of them.
Efforts to topple J.M. are the fate of the prosecution group and the first task, and the court cannot be unaware of that.
Even if they know the prosecution is making such dusty investigations and reckless prosecutions, the group of judges don't seem to want to put the brakes on their momentum there. The prosecution is plotting a cartel with the majority of the media, and you don't want to stand up to them as just one judge. If they rule in J.M.'s favor at all, these conservative media will immediately be branded as left-wing judges and will be severely attacked, so there's no reason to put up with it.
Second, it seems that the judge group also does not want the establishment of Korean society to be dismantled. It seems that they do not even want to be disbanded (it is impossible anyway) and do not even want to allow it to be challenged.
Many high-ranking judges on the court will be in a class far from Korea's working-class society in terms of their origins and marriages. J.M. and other Democratic forces seem to have a strong sense of rejection for it, as they are expected to represent the interests of the working class (though not really).
There seems to be a 99% chance that J.M. will become a new government ㅌ. The court certainly has a hearing that it fears will challenge the judiciary or undermine the existing establishment. (For example, the practice of taking high salaries from corporations after retirement from high office is blocked.)
Even if we can't stop J.M's government from being born
At least, I wonder if it will help him lose his power through these sentences.
Criminals become ㅌ. We resist. If conservatives, prosecutors, courts, etc. coordinate governments to prevent them from actually administering any kind of administration and shake them up for five years, the actual government of J.M. could end up in a bad way. (Just like the Roh Moo Hyun government.)
Many people say that we need to establish a national economy. But in a capitalist economy where capital access is completely open, what is a national economy? Is there such a thing? For example, in large corporations such as DC, the Japanese are about to become the group leader. Even if the various indicators of the Korean economy improve, it does not mean that the working class will live well, and even if the Korean economic indicators are ruined, the wealthy will be richer than before.
Then, for people with vested interests, for groups that have been spending their money on their own terms (such as special prosecution costs), the national economic crisis is not a concern. In their eyes, those who seek to reform this or that to revive the national economy will be seen as disturbing and worrying.
I expect J.M. to come to power soon, but I think it's never going to be easy for five years. After impeachment, there's an election and an election, and the citizens will cheer. But that's when the real thorny road starts.
I think this year will probably not be an easy year for everyone.
