Although the world sympathizes

Although the world sympathizes with Ukrainians, objectively speaking, it is not the worst situation in the world for Ukrainians. There are still countless ethnic groups in the world who have failed to establish an independent state. Kurds in the Middle East are still scattered as minorities in three or four countries, having been exploited and thrown out by the United States and neighboring powers during the ISIS sweep. For more than half a century, the Huguenots and Tibetans still live as Chinese minorities, and the Chechens, who once fought by force enough to make Russia tremble, are now living quietly as Russian minorities. Ryugu, Scots, and Catalans have failed to build an independent state and are living as Japanese, British, and Spanish citizens, respectively. Ukraine lost some of its territory this time, but there are also many examples of it being taken away from independence. Ireland had to become independent, leaving Northern Ireland to Britain, and East Timor also had to become independent, leaving West Timor to Indonesia, where it killed a fifth of its population. In fact, Ukraine, which gained independence from the Russian Empire (nominally the Soviet Empire), is a spring that has belatedly suffered the blood and territorial sacrifices that other oppressed minorities will suffer when they become independent.

We are shocked by the war in Ukraine because it happened in the 21st century, when it became common sense to some extent that the borders of sovereign states are sacred and that aggression against other countries is barbaric in history books. If the war in Ukraine broke out when the former Soviet Union was disbanded, we would not have been shocked to this extent. Considering the horrors of the civil war between the divided republics after the dissolution of the Yugoslav Union, which collapsed for similar reasons to the dissolution of the former Soviet Union at the time, it can be said that it is not until more than 30 years later that the former Soviet Union is suffering from the aftermath of the dissolution of the empire that dominated half of the world in the 20th century (Bosnia Herzegovina was barely independent after being subjected to more than Ukraine's sufferings by Russia in terms of population proportion and intensity of their suffering.) So, the people of Ukraine should stand up for themselves to preserve their sovereignty, sovereignty, national dignity and identity, instead of being soaked in the victim mentality and self-pity that they are the most poor people in the world who have only been exploited and abandoned by powerful countries. The situation of Ukrainians would be just an enviable example for those who have been exploited by powerful countries in the world history at least one chapter and have been unable to establish their own nation-state.
