Japan now seems to be looking for a means to create a data center and protect its own information.
음 결과적으로 라인을 일본에... 네이버는 넘길 수 밖에 없는구조가 아닌가 싶네요
왜 이런식으로 흘러가는지는 의문...
"It's like the Japanese government that makes a controversy by poking at the moment when they were preparing to say goodbye."
<First of all, the reason we put it together is because
Back then, the two companies that were hit by Amazon and hit by Rakuten combined for good performance. They are growing exponentially, but Yahoo Japan, which was hit by Rakuten on mobile devices, combined with a cash-strapped line and a mature market. According to the Facebook link above, they were hit by Yahoo and recorded losses, but to be exact, they were both smashed by the second-ranked Rakuten. As they were also lagging behind the second-ranked team, they stopped the bleeding competition and decided to join forces to take second place.
The results weren't great.
It combined with Yahoo for localization, but Yahoo's search engine has not been replaced by Naver, and although it has increased its pay share by using rental lobby power, commerce has been outpaced by Rakuten, let alone Amazon. As a result, it began to make some profits, but its market capitalization has fallen to about 25 trillion won, half of what it was when it was listed.
Coupang went in and closed the Japanese market. Rakuten is also second, but it sees operating loss of about 3 trillion won every year.
It's not like a management failure because of Amazon Japan's deficit competition and slow market expansion, but Naver's position is that it doesn't want to pour water on the bottom poison. Having predicted this situation, I gave the board of directors the initiative at 50:50 and relied on Son Jeong-ui's funds and lobbying power.
From the perspective of the Japanese government
Data security, but such a security incident is shameful to use as an excuse. The problem is that during this visit to the U.S., Japan's major weakness was that internal security was not achieved at all, to the extent that U.S. working-level officials were reluctant to join the intelligence security alliance (AUKUS Pillar II).
There is no security consciousness/infrastructure/system-administrative system of overall users and Japanese companies that cannot be called reporting domestic and foreign companies. The national weakness is that it is recognized at the level of the auction leak more than 20 years ago.
Rather than that excuse, there are only about a line left for Japan to internalize and spread the above security know-how, but the election results of the Korean government are terrible, so I think it is too much to think that it cannot bring a line unless it is now.
The result is a violation of the basic order of the capital market. And that's why the Japanese government was furious when a professor at the National Information Research Institute said that Naver technology cannot be excluded. There's no reason to make such a fuss about buying shares because you were going to pay just enough money for outsourcing. But you can only bring equity and not technology? What are you doing? You're an IT company, too! <- But Yahoo Japan is the franchise that only bought shells.
From Naver's perspective
I need cash to invest in AI, so I'm trying to IPO Naver Webtoon, and the line network is on the line, so it's best to break up smoothly in the form of Line Plus + sale price. The priorities of Naver and Yahoo Japan are so different for investment to be tied up in Japanese commerce.
In addition, as above, they are in the form of technology dependence that only we can do anyway, and even if they stir-fry them, they only need to make money as subcontractors through maintenance and new launches.
If it hadn't been 50:50 at the time in 2016, it would have been attacked as a Korean messenger and disappeared. In Korea and Japan, anti-foreign tax authorities have similar sentiments that preferential treatment for domestic companies is fair, but if they compete properly, they are unreasonable and discriminated against.
So, after the merger, it grew by pushing Yahoo, so the Korean breath was inevitably reduced internally except for the technology part.
It's like the Japanese government that makes a controversy by stabbing them in a hurry while they were preparing to break up beautifully.
The important thing is that cash is also cash, but you need to keep the technology/sales network of Naver Webtoons and smart stores smooth.
If you break up as uncomfortable as you are now, you will really lose money, so there are some things to be cautious about, and I think manpower and certain services should be made by forming a Korean line corporation and handing over affiliates and tasks to it, but I'm a little nervous because Naver's management seems unlikely to negotiate technology-oriented negotiations. >
<To further explain the Japanese government's position, it is in a position to create an LLM technology industry ecosystem that has recently given up supercomputing + data + platform in Japan as soon as possible by giving about 370 billion won to Sobang for the construction of supercomputing infrastructure, and the data for this supercomputing to learn should be in the country.
Now that this supercomputer is ready

The related infrastructure and the data to learn (line) must be in Japan.
