Why Dodramp Of ChatchPT Hits Tariffs
U.S. President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order to impose new tariffs on products imported from Canada, Mexico, and China. The move largely stemmed from the following reasons:
1. Responding to Illegal Immigration and Drugs
President Trump determined that illegal immigrants and deadly drugs such as fentanyl entering the U.S. through Mexico and Canada were threatening the safety of U.S. citizens. As a pressure measure to prevent this, he decided to impose 25% tariffs on products imported from both countries.
2. Responding to China's Unfair Trade Practices
Taking issue with unfair practices and infringement of intellectual property rights in trade with China, the company has imposed a 10% tariff on Chinese goods. This is intended to improve China's trade practices and protect U.S. industries.
3. Protecting domestic industries and revitalizing the economy
It also aims to reduce the price competitiveness of foreign products through high tariffs, protect manufacturing in the United States, and promote domestic production and employment. This includes the intention to stimulate the U.S. economy and reduce the trade deficit.
But there are also concerns that such tariffs could have adverse effects, including higher consumer prices in the United States, increased inflationary pressure and a deepening trade conflict caused by retaliatory tariffs between Canada and Mexico.
Currently, the U.S. is freezing interest rates... Japan is planning further hikes
