Six years ago, I went to have an interview with Tesla. With more than 500 applicants, the process began by having a group interview with four or five other candidates. I made the first two cuts, but I was ultimately eliminated. After I was eliminated, a manager called me in separately and gave me some advice that impressed me. "You have the desire, knowledge, and effort to do this. But the problem is, I am competing with people who have no industry experience and have worked in this field for more than 20 years. "I was devastated at that moment, but I kept that in mind and used it as a driving force for growth. Since then, I have served as an 88M (automobile transport operator) in the Army National Guard, worked in an agency, gained sales experience, pulled a Tesla out of a junkyard, restored it, and enrolled as a student at Universal Tech. I recently applied for an internship at Tesla. After two interviews, I received unexpected news that I would like to hire a full-time employee rather than a temporary intern. What was more surprising was that the person who gave me that advice six years ago remembered me and recognized how much I had grown. Today, I am proud to be working at Tesla formally. Throughout this journey, I have learned that hard work, perseverance, and willingness to learn are always rewarded, no matter how many years it takes. Keep pushing to anyone chasing their dreams. With time and effort invested, opportunities can come at unexpected moments.
